Two Arrests in the Aftermath of Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

The assault resulted in the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
